About the Role
Barth Electric is seeking an experienced and detail-driven Contract Manager to oversee electrical construction projects from planning through closeout. This role is responsible for coordinating resources, managing budgets and schedules, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining strong communication with clients and internal teams. The ideal candidate is organized, solution-oriented, and capable of leading multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage all phases of electrical construction projects, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, procurement, execution, and closeout.
- Coordinate with clients, general contractors, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure project expectations are clearly defined and met.
- Develop and maintain project schedules, track progress, and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment.
- Oversee project budgets, prepare cost projections, and manage change orders, billing, and documentation.
- Provide guidance and support to field supervisors and electricians, ensuring quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
- Conduct site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and maintain strong client relationships.
- Review and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical documents.
- Prepare project reports and communicate status updates to leadership and clients.
- Ensure projects comply with all applicable codes, regulations, and company policies.
- Identify opportunities to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve project outcomes.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent industry experience).
3–7 years of project management experience in electrical contracting, commercial construction, or closely related industries.
Strong knowledge of electrical construction practices, codes, and industry standards.
Proven track record of delivering projects on time and within budget.
Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, and technical documents.
Proficiency with project management software, Microsoft Office, and job-costing tools.
Strong problem-solving skills and ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
Valid driver’s license and ability to travel to job sites as required.
Preferred Attributes
PMP, OSHA 30, or other relevant certifications.
Experience working with general contractors and managing subcontractors.
Ability to balance multiple projects and deadlines.
High level of professionalism, teamwork, and accountability.
